TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

As an instructor of management, I prepare students to navigate organizational life with both effectiveness and reflexivity. I teach leadership and organizational behavior and am prepared to teach courses in negotiation, careers, organizational culture, change management, corporate responsibility, and the future of work.

My approach to teaching is grounded in four principles:

Experiential: Students learn by applying concepts through cases, simulations, and reflection on their own experiences.

Growth-Oriented: I tailor my pedagogy to students' varied backgrounds and aspirations to foster confidence, competence, and curiosity.

Reflective: Students are encouraged to think critically about the ethical dimensions of management.

Inclusive: I foster a classroom where students feel respected, supported, and willing to take intellectual risks.

FEEDBACK FROM STUDENTS

“Professor Weinstein’s teaching style was incredibly engaging and thought-provoking, making every class session something to look forward to. I really did enjoy this class!”

“Professor Weinstein was an excellent presenter, fielded questions with knowledge and poise, and had a strong command of the classroom and course content.”

“I really liked actually understanding the theory behind why organizations work the way they do. I feel like I was demystifying my work life.”

“I really liked the balance between class exercises and lectures. I liked that we were given the opportunity to contribute to lectures organically. I feel like ‘so what?’ was incorporated into nearly all the lectures, exercises, and work outside of class.”

“It felt very validating to understand that what I’ve experienced in the professional world is not a siloed event and that it’s being experienced elsewhere as well. I’m excited to implement some of these strategies in my personal and professional life.”

“I enjoyed the collaborative aspect the instructor brought to the lecture. We were introduced to the concepts but then immediately discussed the topics and attempted to apply them.”

“I really enjoyed having Professor Weinstein as our professor. She was upbeat and had amazing examples!”
